this is the second year I have been honored to help sell t shirts at this event and it was so fantastic yesterday that we could hardly keep up with the demand... In this difficult economy people were paying more for the shirts than the $10 we were charging.I can't begin to tell you how honored I was to help these beautiful people who have given so much so we
can live in this beautiful country of ours. Never forget there are many long and painful days ahead for these folks and they need to know that we are supporting them all the way.
Let us never have another welcome home like those from the
Viet Nam war.
Be proud to live in the greatest country on earth.........

Marc will be greatly missed by his friends. I was saddened and at the same time overjoyed to hear you mention him on the radio this morning. Marc was a great guy doing a terribly difficult job. I only have fond memories of him and that's how he will stay. Please pray for his family and fiance.

Very cool military photos

SOLDIERS IN IRAQ - HOLIDAY CARE PACKAGES - 11-15-08

November 6, 2008 02:35 AM

SOLDIERS IN IRAQ - HOLIDAY CARE PACKAGES - NOVEMBER 15th
12 – 4pm
DREXEL DASKALASKIS ATHLETIC CENTER
PHILADELPHIA, PA
Drexel University will come together and show support this holiday season for our soldiers in Iraq by creating care packages to send overseas. There is a group of 600 soldiers in Baghdad that are unable to return home for the holidays this year, and could desperately use our help. Students can bring suggested items that are listed below to the Daskalaskis Athletic Center on Drexel University’s campus. These items may be purchased or used but must be in good condition. Students are not responsible for boxes or shipping fees. The items will then be packaged and sent to our soldiers in Iraq. Students can assist in the process of our holiday care packaging if they wish to participate in this important event! The soldiers also LOVE receiving letters and pictures! They are carried around with them for inspiration. Everyone can participate in some small way and help make the Holidays special for those in Baghdad!

Hey All Preston and Steve Listeners!
I belong to this joke list and they are just as awesome as you! Every year they try to get donations so that they can purchase air line tickets for our soldiers so that they may be able to go home for the holidays. Many of the soldiers have babies that they have never been able to meet their new born child because they are doing our country proud by serving to protect us. If you would please look into this charitable cause, it is legitimate and I have donated for several years. A simple $5 or $10 donation will help out.

These soldiers give us the gift of freedom, is allowing them to celebrate Christmas with their loved ones too much to ask?

HALLOWEEN CANDY COLLECTION FOR US TROOPS - October 2008

October 14, 2008 02:44 PM

HALLOWEEN CANDY COLLECTION FOR US TROOPS
Two major TV networks already have their interviews ready to air from October 30th until Wednesday Nov 5th. Many colleagues from all over the Delaware Valley to join in. This is a charity that runs on energy, not major corporate dollars.
This year we seek to break our national record, set last year of 5600 pounds of Halloween candy collected. The troops use this candy to befriend local children, to promote democracy, and to gather information.
We would like the help of local school PTA’s, athletic leagues, and businesses. We will be collecting candy on November 1, 3, 4, and 5. Call our office if you can help with donations.
Thanks to the help of NFI Freight, we will have a trailer, on site for collection. We also hope to have several US soldiers here to thank the kids. The candy will all be shipped to Keystone Soldiers, who last year incurred expenses of almost $10,000 to get the candy overseas. This year, we will be asking to write a check as a donation to Keystone Soldiers. Information about this organization can be found, on the web, at www.keystonesoldiers.com
Not only are we providing materiel to the troops, but we are also preventing decay in New Jersey, and nationally, by taking this candy off the streets. The kids who’ve taken part in this the past several years have truly gotten the understanding of charitable giving. They are taking something that was valuable to them, and giving it to others who need it more than they do. The letters that some children wrote to our soldiers, to accompany the cartons of candy were heartwarming.

Operation First Response - Fundraiser - 6-28-08

June 26, 2008 03:01 AM

A fundraiser on Saturday night, June 28th.
It's at Soncini's Bar/restaurant from 7pm until 10 pm. Tickets are $30 and include buffet, draft beer, and mix drinks. Proceeds go to Operation First Response, an organization that helps our wounded heroes returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. There will be a local Hero from Warminster PA there on Saturday as well. His name is PFC Justin Gindhart - he is a Army Combat Infantry Medic and he saved the life of Cpl. Wesley Leon. They were in an IED blast on December 20th, 2007. If it weren't for Justin, Cpl. Leon would not be alive today.

PFC Justin Gindhart is on R&R Leave from Iraq right now and returns to Iraq on the 4th of July. We'd love to get as many people out to thank him and to support the wounded as possible.

In memory of her son Adam Conboy, Mary is hosting a beef & beer to raise money for Operation Bedding. Mary continues to send basic needs and more to the men & women serving in Iraq.

The Adam C. Conboy Memorial Fund requests the pleasure of your company at Operation Bedding's 2nd Annual Beef & Beer Fundraiser. Please join us in supporting our troops April 11th.
Friday, April 11th from 7pm to 11pm
F.O.P. Hall
1330 Spring Garden St.
Philadelphia, PA
Dinner - Dancing - Door Prizes
Tickets are $25
Purchase your tickets calling The Adam Conboy Memorial Fund at (610) 564-1787 or http://www.adamc..../newsEvents.html
Lance Corporal Adam C. Conboy was killed in Iraq on May 12, 2006. He last spoke with his mother only a few days before he died, and told her that he needed some sheets. He jokingly said to her, "C'mon Mom, let's get Operation Bedding started." He unknowingly started his own memorial fund. His mother, Mary Conboy, started a memorial fund in Adam's name that collects money, sheets, chapstick, snacks, drinks, mixes... and the list goes on! Mary then makes separate packages for the Marines and has them sent over to the guys in Iraq.
Please take a moment of your time to check out Adam's site -http://www.adamconboymemorialfund.org - and see if you can make a donation. The site will better explain to you how much Mary is doing for our troops and what an impression Adam has made on people's lives.

To the troops - thank you. Your hard work, dedication and sacrifice are appreciated. We are fortunate to have men and women like you fighting for us.

I think I actually went to high school with him. It's a shame to know someone only a little younger than you, and having to read about them dying in the newspaper, especially in that kind of a situation.

You guys are the best, hang in there and keep your heads down, and come home safe to your Fathers, Mothers, brothers, sisters, wifes, and children. Remember, be careful and come home to a nation who is proud of the very hard job you do everyday.

My fiancee' was also killed in Iraq on April 28th of 2006... his mom started a scholarship in his name to help the soldiers pay for basic necessities that are not provided. It is a shame that these men and women have to pay for some of the things that they do... God Bless our troops...

I just want to say Thank You to all our soldiers at home and in Iraq. Whenever I see a soldier, whether it be in a resturant, at the post office or in a WAWA, I always say Thanks. Just because they are not over in Iraq doesn't mean they are any less important. Thank you for protecting us and making this a safe place to live. God Bless Our Troops. Come home safe. Missing all that have been lost and are fighting now.
